As I look back on ministry this month I’m so full of gratitude at all the moments God met us. Some of which felt a little mundane and others a little more significant. Whether that be sanding down furniture, cleaning the church, setting up and tearing down chairs every week, or whether that be putting on an event for some youth girls and sharing the magnitude of their value with them and seeing God do beautiful things in their hearts. Or whether that be going up to the side of the mountain to just hang out and love on some of the village kids there.
This month was full of seemingly simple moments, but God met us so beautifully in every one of them. With every chair stacked and every cabinet sanded down was a new revelation from the Holy Spirit. I may not have seen a ton of people get physically healed and saved, but seeds were planted and that’s just as valuable. Sometimes the evidence of the seeds and the heart healings aren’t immediately visible and that’s okay. My team got to encourage the church we were with and help them accomplish the things they couldn’t do on their own And I think it’s so beautiful. God just met us where we were throughout this whole month; in the simple and in the extravagant.
He revealed himself to me in the details.
He taught me things in the seemingly mundane.
He met me in the simplicity.
I would trade it for nothing.
The resounding prayer of my heart this past month has been “Holy Spirit increase.”
When I wake up, Holy Spirit increase.
When I lay down to sleep, Holy Spirit increase.
In every part in between, Holy Spirit increase.
I’m overwhelmed by how much I need him and how much I long for more of him.
I need more of his discernment, more of his leading, more of his friendship, more of his teaching, more of his anointing, and more of everything he is.
Cultivating that awareness and expectancy for him this past month has opened my eyes to all the beauty he’s bestowed on our ministry here.
That’s a heart posture I want to cultivate for the rest of my life. I never want to stop being aware of him. I never want to belittle the things he leads me to. I want to see him, know him, recognize him in every part of my day, my life, my ministry. Whether that’s in stacking chairs, going to the store, riding the bus, praying for someone on the street, or preaching the gospel.
I encourage you to stop and ask Holy Spirit to reveal himself to you in the simplicity of whatever your day holds today.
He wants to be a part of it.
Location update: due to the political turmoil in Bolivia, we will be staying another month in Peru. My team will be partnering with a ministry in Pacasmayo, Peru for the remainder of our time here. Stand with me in praying for Bolivia and our ministry hosts who will no longer have us there this month.
Fundraising update: I still have about $5,000 left to raise! Click the donate button to help me stay on the field, or follow the link below to support me through buying merchandise!
